Horse shows will be held on the following Sundays
May 25 - June 22 - July 20 - September 14 - October 12

Dog shows will be held on the following Saturdays
May 31 - October 11

This year, 2008, sees the 25th anniversary of the Shield Shows, established in 1983. A special event is being planned to benefit the ILPH and hopefully will include a social event and a grand auction. lt will also be an occasion when we celebrate the life of Florence Hogarth who died last year. It would be fitting to mark the first anniversary of her death by raising money for animals she loved. Florence and her daughter Julie have competed in and judged at the Shield Shows from the beginning.

Sponsors, prizes and ideas wanted
Because we want to celebrate our quarter century by making record breaking charity donations, we need your new or good as new unwanted items to sell, raffle or auction. Anything from unwanted Christmas present or a packet of treats to a saddle! Just bring them along to the secretary's tent at the Shield Shows early in the season.

OUR MISSION
Always, the aim of the Shield Shows has been to provide a safe, enjoyable and informative environment for those who are new to competitive riding, showing or handling. Our judges are chosen for their all round knowledge, and may not know all breeds in detail. But they will offer help, support and advice to encourage newcomers, especially the young.
