Shield Horse Show Summer Schedule 2011

Sundays May 22 -  June 26  - July 24 - Sept. 11  - Oct. 9

Entry Fees : Classes 1 to 28 - £5  (six for £25)
Clear Round - £2  (3 for £5)  - Novelty Classes - £3  (six for £15)

Because some tickets are discounted, NO REFUNDS given, but you may give unwanted tickets to friends or use them at the next show.  All entries on the day. NO STALLIONS/COLTS except well behaved yearlings. NO FOALS.

Buy the number of tickets you require for main classes, clear round or novelty events from the show secretary and hand the appropriate ticket to the steward as you enter the ring.

Classes will not start before the time shown. We are not responsible if you miss your class. Where classes may clash, inform the steward who may still be able to accommodate you

Ring 1 - SHOW JUMPING
Horses/ponies must be 4 yrs or over

1. Beginner’s S.J.  11am
J
umps 1’ 6” approx. Horse/pony never placed 1st – 3rd in any SJ event. One round, slow bogey time based on trot.  Everyone with a clear will be placed. No horse/rider in this class may enter any other SJ class except Class 2. May be led or assisted.

2.   The Tina Trophy 11.30am
Jumps 2' approx, cup to winner. Any speed.  In memory of Tina, a much loved pony.  This class is designed to give all riders an equal chance. The numbers of those riding clear will be drawn to decide the winners.  Entry fees will be donated to World Horse Welfare (formerly the ILPH).

CLEAR ROUND - 2’3"

3. Intermediate SJ

2'6" approx.  If you jump a clear, wait for the whistle and jump again, to avoid the need to come back for a jump off
 

4.  Scurry
 Jumps 2' 6", scurry course on time, ground conditions permitting

May be split if sufficient entries into horses/ponies

 Note :  Where there are a large number of entrants in any ring, classes may be split.

Special rosettes to best skewbald or piebald in classes marked ** and to highest placed BSPA reg’d horse/pony in classes marked #

Ring 2 – RIDDEN  Starts 9.30am
Horses/ponies must be 4 yrs or over

No jumping. Judged on conformation, manners and paces.

12. RC Horse/PC Pony
Judged on manners and performance.
